Overview

This topic provides a step-by-step procedure to create and manage Location Views.

Before You Begin

You should understand the "Location Views" or in short "Views", in case you don't, please navigate to this page.

You should have the required Media Files predefined.  page

Manage Your Thing Types

1- Open DynThings Web Portal.

2- Using the navigation panel, click on "Views" under the "Management" section.

3- Click on "New" to create new View, or click on "Manage" button to modify the existing Views.

4- Fill the required info as the following:

Type

Description

Title

Text

The title of the selected View, it could be one of two options:

1- Describe the viewable area on the map, such as "Street 52", "China Town" or "City-East"

2- Describe the Common characteristic of the View's attached locations.

View Type

Drop Down

The way that represent how the selected view will be delivered to the users from a UI prespective.

You can chose one from the mentioned view types below (*1).

Is Active

Check Box

 Keeping the checkbox disabled will hide the location in all related views.

 (*1) View Types:

Single Location: will show the ThingEnds which related to 1 single location only, the delivery to user will be on a form of List.

Thumbnails: Will show the locations in form of list of cards.

Map: Will show the locations in form of a Map with a Pushpin on every location.

List: Will show the locations in form of a list, similar to the Thumnails mode but with less info.

Map & List (Mobile: List only): The delivered UI will be as per the user's device Type, on a 10 inchs or more tablet and bigger devices (including laptops & desktops) will be List and Map sideby side, and on smaller devices (including phones) will be List view only.

Map & List (Mobile: Map only): The delivered UI will be as per the user's device Type, on a 10 inchs or more tablet and bigger devices (including laptops & desktops) will be List and Map sideby side, and on smaller devices (including phones) will be Map view only.

Map Tab

Using the map view, click on the map to specify the Geo area to be delivered to the user, also you can set the coordinates using the "Latitude", "Longitude" and "Zoom" textbox.

Please note that the map view requires an internet connection and Bing Map account should be preconfigured as per this Article

Locations Tab

You have to attach Locations to View to make the attached things available in Location's View mode. Use the "Import" tool to attach the Locations, also you can deattach the preselected Locations using the "Deattach" button.
